Privacy Policy

Last updated 5 October 2026

Wisekew Research and Consulting Company (“Wisekew”, “we”, “us”) runs wisekew.com: our consulting website and the Wisekew Academy learning portal. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do with it.

1. Who we are

Wisekew Research and Consulting Company, Sifa Towers, Ring Road Kilimani, Nairobi, Kenya. For anything about your personal information, write to info@wisekew.com.

2. What we collect

  • Your account: your name, email address and password. The password is stored only as a one-way scrambled value (a hash); we cannot read it. You may also give a phone number, country, postal code and a profile photo, all optional.
  • If you sign in with Google or Apple: your name and verified email address from them. Apple lets you hide your real address, in which case we receive a private relay address that forwards to you. We do not receive your Google or Apple password and we do not read anything else in your account with them.
  • Your learning: the courses you join, which topics you have completed, how long each topic was open, your quiz and exam answers, scores and timings, and any certificates issued to you.
  • Payments: a record of what you bought, the amount, the date, the status and the payment provider’s reference. Card details are typed into the payment provider’s secure window and never reach our servers. If you pay by mobile money we keep the phone number and transaction reference; if you pay with cryptocurrency we keep the deposit address and status.
  • Messages: anything you write in live chat or send to us by email.
  • Technical records: our servers keep logs containing your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, so that we can keep the service secure and investigate abuse.

We do not collect government ID numbers, date of birth, or your precise location, and we do not use advertising or analytics trackers.

3. How we use it

  • To create your account, let you sign in and keep your account secure.
  • To deliver your courses: unlocking topics, marking your progress, grading exams and issuing certificates.
  • To take payment, give you access to what you bought and prevent fraud.
  • To send you service emails: verifying your address, resetting your password and confirming account changes. We do not send marketing emails.
  • To answer your questions and support requests.
  • To improve our courses, using learning activity (for example which topics are hard).
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.

Who can see your learning details. The instructors of courses you join and our administrators can see your name, email address, progress, exam results and time spent. Other learners cannot see your details.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the service, and only what they need:

  • Namecheap, which hosts our servers and stores our data and backups.
  • Resend, which delivers our service emails (it sees the recipient’s address and the message).
  • Paystack (card and mobile-money payments) and NOWPayments (cryptocurrency, when offered), which process your payment under their own privacy policies.
  • Google or Apple, if you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Apple”. They learn that you signed in to Wisekew.
  • YouTube and Vimeo, when you play a lesson video they host; your browser then contacts them directly.

We do not currently send live-chat messages or any learner information to artificial intelligence services. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first. We may also disclose information where the law requires it or to protect people from harm.

5. Where your information is processed

Our providers work in several countries, so your information may be stored and processed outside the country where you live, including in the United States and the European Union. We choose established providers and share only what is needed.

6. Cookies and similar storage

We use only what is necessary for the site to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

  • Sign-in cookies (authjs.session-token, authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-url) keep you signed in for up to 14 days and protect the sign-in form.
  • Browser storage remembers your reading text size and dark-mode choice in the lesson screen, and keeps your answers during an exam if you refresh the page.

7. How long we keep it

  • Your account information is kept for as long as your account exists.
  • If you ask us to delete your account we delete your personal information, except records we must keep by law, such as payment and accounting records.
  • Backups are kept for about 14 days, so deleted information can remain in them for that long. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then removed.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it (you can also change your name, phone, country and photo yourself under Account information);
  • delete it; or
  • stop using it for a purpose you object to.

Email info@wisekew.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm who you are first. Once we have, we will give you a copy of your information within 7 days, and correct or delete it within 14 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to your data-protection authority; in Kenya that is the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored as hashes, access to learner data is limited by role, and we keep regular backups. No system is perfectly secure, so if you think your account has been misused, change your password and tell us straight away.

10. Children

Wisekew is for adults, meaning people aged 18 and over, preparing for professional exams. It is not for children (anyone under 18), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above shows when it last changed, and for significant changes we will tell account holders by email.
